  • ASUS ROG Cetra gaming earphone
  • Carry case
  • Extra eartips with a pair of foam ear tips
  • Ear fins
  • Clip
  • User manual
  • Warranty card

Design & Build Quality

In terms of design and build quality, I have a mixed review on ASUS ROG Cetra gaming earphones.

There are some things in it that make it better than other earphones.

Just like these earphones are much better in portability, you can carry them anywhere easily.

Also, round carry case have been given, which make it better to take them with you on the journey.

These earphones almost come in full black color, no color combination has been given in them.

So those who like solid color will like ROG Cetra gaming earphones.

On the back side of the earbuds, you will see lights which look very cool and give a gaming feel.

Because nowadays every gamer wants lights in their gaming products.

But unfortunately these are not RGB lights.

I felt a drawback in these, that neither do you get any effect in them nor can you control them.

These are simple red lights which turn on as soon as the earphones are connected to the device and they also turn off automatically as soon as you remove them from the device.

So you will get light in these earphones but you will not be able to control them.

All earphones are made of plastic except for the USB connector, which you get with metal.

This does not give it a premium feel but their plastic material is of very good quality which seems durable.

USB-C Connectivity

The ASUS ROG Cetra gaming earphones give you a USB-C connector which is a good feature for some gamers and a bad one for some.

Because in today’s smartphones you do not get 3.5mm jack, which will make it very easy to connect this gaming earphones to them.

On the other hand, if you have an old smartphone or a smartphone with 3.5mm jack, then you have to use USB-C to 3.5mm splitter to use them.

Which can be quite irritating.

Surprisingly you won’t get braided cable in ASUS ROG Cetra gaming earphones which I did not expect at all.

In these, you have been given simple rubberized cable which is not even completely tangle free.

If compared to other earphones in this price range, you get braided cable of very premium quality.

At the end of the cable you are given a USB-C port which is not of good quality.

So if considering the price range, the cables of ASUS ROG Cetra gaming earphones are not good at all.

In ASUS ROG Cetra you have been given in-line controller like the rest of the earphones but in this you have been given a total of 4 buttons.

Out of which 2 buttons are given to increase and decrease the volume while with one button you can receive and decline calls and play/pause songs.

On the other side, a button has been given to you, from which you can complete 3 types of tasks.

With this single button you can turn active noise cancellation and ambient mode on/off.

Active Noise Cancellation

The additional feature of the ASUS ROG Cetra gaming earphones is its active noise cancellation.

Which supports you to a great extent.

Its active noise cancellation feature works much better when you are playing indoor, but if you use these earphones outdoor then you will get very less active noise cancellation.

Although the active noise cancellation feature in earphones is not much better, for that you will have to use headphones, but still you will get active noise cancellation to some extent.

So if you do indoor sessions then you will get a much better result.

Ambient Mode

You have also been given ambient mode in ASUS ROG Cetra which also works quite well.

For this, you have been given a button in the in-line controller with the help of that you can turn on ambient mode.

This feature is useful when you have to listen to outside voices and find out what is going on around you.

I have also used this mode and it works quite well.

This feature comes in handy when you do not want to get your earphones out of your ears again and again.

So if you want to hear outside voice then you can simply use this feature.

In ASUS ROG Cetra you are not given a mic in the in-line controller but rather near your mouth so that you can use it in a better way.

Its mic quality is quite good.

This will help you a lot especially in gaming.

In terms of mic, the ASUS ROG Cetra is the perfect gaming earphones.

ASUS ROG Cetra takes care of comfortability.

In this, where you have been given silicone eartips, ear fins have also been given which do not allow earphones to come out of your ears.

In addition to the extra silicone ear tips in the box, you have also been given a pair of memory foam ear tips which further enhances your comfortability.

The best thing is that you can use these earphones continuously for a long time.

I have used them continuously for a few hours and I did not feel uncomfortable at all.

So in comfortability you can give full marks to this ASUS ROG Cetra earphone.

Now let’s talk about the sound of this earphone.

Let’s talk about gaming first.

In the last 1 week, I have done a lot of gaming in it and I can say with confidence that out of all the earphones I have tried so far, these earphones are better than many earphones.

asus rog review: sound quality

You get a clear idea of which opponents are coming from (in FPS games).

The sound quality of this earphone is so good that you can feel every sound of the games.

On the other hand, if we talk about music, then I got a little disappointment because in this price range you are expecting earphones of a good and decent quality.

I did not enjoy listening to the music that I had expected.

Since these are gaming earphones, if you are thinking of taking them to listen to music, then you will get better options.

Good For

  • Good for gamers
  • Those who want better comfortability
  • Good for who like to play games away from the noise
  • Those who want a great earphone for gaming overall

Not Good For

  • Not good for music lovers
  • If you want earphones with a high quality braided cable
  • Those who want low-cost gaming earphones
