IQOO Z3 Review: Design & Build Quality
Let’s start from the back side, it has a polycarbonate back but it looks like glass, we get to see an IQOO branding on the bottom side and 3 cameras with flash light.
In-hand feel is very good, it is a lightweight smartphone and it fits very well in our hand.
Well, I have big hands but you got it very well if you are the one who has small hands.
Let’s talk about it’s weight.
When I hold this IQOO Z3 in my hand, I think it should be around 183-184 grams, but actually it weighs around 188 grams, almost the same.
But I would say, the weight is average and it isn’t too heavy, it fits very well in our hands as I told you earlier.
The case you get is of very good quality and fits well.
IQOO Z3 Review: Ports and Buttons
On the bottom side, we get speaker grill, USB Type-C, microphone and also 3.5mm jack.
I want to remind you that in IQOO 7 we did not get 3.5mm jack.
On the left hand side, there is nothing.
On top side, we get a sim card tray and noise cancelling microphone.
Lastly, on the right hand side, we have a volume rocker and power on/off button that doubles up as a fingerprint scanner.
And guys let me tell you about it’s sim card tray, it’s a hybrid sim card slot where we can insert a dual sim card or one sim with a SD card.
IQOO Z3 Review: Display
I’m seeing this water drop style display after a long time, the bezels are thin and chin size is also average.
Display here is a 6.58 inch screen and it doesn’t feel like a big display.
It is an IPS LCD FHD+ screen with 120Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch sampling rate.
And it has 90.6% screen to body ratio as it has small bezels and it looks nice overall.
It looks slightly outdated because of the water drop design but still I like it overall and it gets a panda glass for screen protection.
IQOO Z3 Review: Processor
This is the first smartphone to come equipped with Snapdragon 768G 5G and it is successor of SD 765G.
It gets a 15% performance boost because of performance cores of this SoC are clocked at 2.5 Ghz while SD 765G is clocked at 2.4 Ghz.
In short, we get high performance from this IQOO Z3 gaming phone.
IQOO Z3 Review: Gaming
The IQOO Z3 phone comes with several settings which helps us to play the game better, you should check them once by yourself.
For gamers, the phone’s temperature is very important so we tested its temperature and we get to the maximum temperature around 37-38°C.
And if we talk about it’s back side temperature then we get to see initially around 34-35°c.
Now let’s play PUBG or Battle Ground Mobile India aka BGMI.
There is good news for gyroscope gamers, in this IQOO Z3 we did not find any delay in gyroscope.
I was also able to control gun recoil with the gyroscope and it was smooth, so good for gyroscope gamers.
Let’s talk about gaming performance.
I played Team Deathmatch (TDM) for about 20 to 30 minutes and the FPS has dropped to just 58 which is great.
If you want to have a real test of FPS then go for a hot drop (in PUBG or BGMI) or a gun fight, you will know the exact result by how much FPS drop.
I want to tell you something…
IQOO claims that the IQOO Z3 comes with a liquid cooling system, but I’ve only played the game for 30 minutes so far and it’s getting warm.
One more thing, as it heats up, the screen brightness will decrease automatically, It is not that this is happening only in the game, but the brightness of the whole phone decreases.
What is your reaction about all this? Commenting below and share your thoughts.
I have played continuously for more than an hour and the FPS continuously drops from 40 to 50 and fluctuates up to 40 if you play longer.
This is all because heating issues, you have to play in AC room or use mobile cooler to get rid of FPS drops issues.
IQOO Z3 Review: Battery
In this IQOO Z3 phone, we get to see a 4400 mAh battery and 55 W fast charging, the adapter you get is 65W but the phone supports 55W charging.
By the way, it charges 50% of battery in just 19 minutes and approx 50 minutes takes for fully charged, That’s insane.
IQOO Z3 Review: Camera
In this IQOO Z3 phone, we get to see triple cameras in which a primary camera comes with 64MP, an ultra wide one which is of 8MP and the last one is a macro camera which is of 2MP.
Apart from this, the front camera or selfie camera is of 16MP.
Overall the quality of the camera is really good, I didn’t expect so much detail in the cameras that we got to see good colors and contrast too.
Here is one thing that I just noticed, like the camera has eye auto focus, we get to see the eye-body auto focus in this IQOO Z3.
In a nutshell, the iQOO has done a great job with its camera, so if you are a gamer as well as a camera lover then definitely go for it.
