In this article I am going to review LG 29UM69G which is a budget gaming monitor which has many great features besides Ultrawide Full HD display.
LG 29UM69G is available in 3 different sizes, in which you will get to see 25 inches, 29 inches and 34 inches. In this, you get a higher-than-average refresh rate of 75Hz.
The picture quality is below average but for gaming LG 29UM69G is a good monitor.
I have been using this monitor for a long time, so LG 29UM69G Review is going to be a lot of detail review.
If you want to know about LG 29UM69G in detail, then stay with me till the end.
LG 29UM69G Review
- 75Hz Refresh rate
- Low input lag
- Great motion handling
- Low response time
- In-built speaker
- Great design
- Good viewing angle
- Cable management feature
- You will not get a Type-C cable with it
- No height adjustment
The LG 29UM69G is one of the few gaming monitors in which you get to see large displays at a low price.
In this, you get 29 inch Ultrawide Full HD IPS display, which is quite good in terms of gaming.
There are some other features that make it different from the rest of the gaming monitor, which we will know further in the LG 29UM69G Review.
Let’s get started…
What’s in the Box
- LG 29UM69G Gaming Monitor
- Power brick
- HDMI cable
- Displayport cable
- CD driver
- Monitor stand
Design & Build Quality
The design of the LG 29UM69G monitor is quite attractive. In this you get about half an inch of bezels.
When the monitor’s screen turns off, you won’t see the bezels, but when you turn the screen on, you can easily see them.
LG 29UM69G looks very premium in appearance, but when you touch it, you do not get that premium feel.
But this is a monitor, not a mobile phone, that you always have to touch with your hands and if you still need a premium designed monitor then you can consider Samsung Odyssey G7.
It is made from glossy plastic which is not only stylish in looks but also of very good build quality.
I have been using LG 29UM69G for so long, but I have not had any problem in design.

The LG 29UM69G monitor weighs about 4.9 kg if we measure it without a stand. On the other hand, if you measure its weight with a stand, its weight becomes about 5.4 kg.
By the way I used to keep it on my desk but if you have less space on your desk then you can also mount it on the wall.
In terms of ergonomic, the LG 29UM69G is not a good monitor as it has very few options for adjusting.
In this you can neither do height adjustment nor swivel it, which caused me quite disappointment.
In this, you have been given only tilt feature in which you are given the range from -22.5° to 0°.
In the LG 29UM69G, you get to see about 29 inch widescreen display which is an IPS panel display.
Its brightness is around 250nits while its sRGB is around 99.9%. While adobe RGBs are 87.1% and DCI-P3 coverage is around 83.6%.
If I explain it in easy language, then its color accuracy is quite good.
Its contrast ratio will get you the mediocre which is around 1023:1 which is seen in the normal IPS monitors.
Apart from this, the viewing angle of the display is also much better. The advantage of having a large display is that you can do multitasking easily in it.
Although it has a matte finish, it does not have much reflections and I have not even seen PWN Flickers in it which seemed a bit disappointing.
If I consider the price of LG 29UM69G, then its display quality was quite good.
Resolution & Size
The LG 29UM69G is a good ultrawide gaming monitor that comes with an aspect ratio of ~ 21: 9, which I personally thought was a very good ratio.
The resolution of this monitor is 2560 x 1080, which makes its screen appearance big and attractive.
Because of widescreen, not only will you get immersive gaming experience, but you can easily open two windows side by side.
In LG 29UM69G you get 10w internal speakers which are quite good according to a monitor.
The speakers that come in your laptop, its speakers make a lot of loud sound, which I like very much.
However, I am not saying that they can replace external speakers because their quality is very good and they perform even better.
But those who do not have any external speakers, then you can complete your work and tasks easily.
This feature is for gamers like me who need type-c connectivity in their monitors.
When I bought the LG 29UM69G monitor, I did research on a lot of monitors which had issues regarding type-c connectivity and after much research I bought the LG 29UM69G.
So it has type-c connectivity. In this, you can connect your macbook or any type-c compatible laptop through a single type-c cable.
However, it also has a drawback. You do not find any type-c cable in the box of LG 29UM69G monitor, for this you will have to buy it separately from the market.
Apart from this, let me tell you one more thing. It will not be connected to any type-c cable, for this it must have the support of thunderbolt.
If you try to connect the monitor to the cable of your type-c mobile charger, it will not work.

In terms of OSD I liked the LG 29UM69G quite well. In this, you get a joystick under the monitor, with the help of that you can turn off the monitor, decide the input and also easily go to the menu of the monitor.
In this, you have been given a very clean interface. You are not given many buttons, just a joystick which is given on the bottom of the monitor.
If you want to get into game mode or to turn on freeSync, you can do it with the help of this joystick.
For customization in LG 29UM69G, you have been given a CD which you get with the box of the monitor, which contains the drivers for the monitor, you can install them online as well.
With the help of software, you will be able to manage the monitor in a better way. Whether it is to divide the monitor into different parts or to make other customizations, all is easily done with the help of software.
You can install them in both mac and windows.
In this you get a refresh rate of 75Hz if you use the displayport.
In this you also get freesync which is for AMD but NVIDIA cards also support it, which prevents your screen tearing so that your monitor and GPU all run at the same frame rate.
Apart from this, it gets a response time of 1ms which is much better for gaming purpose. In which I did not get any kind of ghosting.
I have played Pubg PC in LG 29UM69G which was able to play in full wide screen easily, apart from this I have also played COD and GTA V which can easily run in wide screen.
Although not all games support wide resolution, some games like if you play PUBG emulator, you will see black bars on the side of the screen.
LG 29UM69G is going to be a great gaming monitor for streamers too. You can easily use it for streaming.
You can divide this monitor into two different parts, in one part of which you can do gaming and in another part you can chat, so according to me it will help you a lot in streaming.
In LG 29UM69G, you can do not only gaming but also many other tasks which will be very fun to do.
This monitor can be good for gamers as well as professionals. So some tasks in which this monitor are quite good like-
If you guys are intrested in programming like me, then this monitor is going to be quite good for you.
When I run android studio, android studio keeps running in my main laptop and divide this monitor in two different parts.
While my stack overflow keeps on going, since its display is very large, you can easily divide the screen.
And if you are doing the courses, like when I learned iOS, I used to play video on one side of the monitor and programming on the other side, it will help you a lot.
So for me overall, the LG 29UM69G is going to be very helpful for programming.
Talking about Productivity task, if you do research then it helps you a lot.
Since it has large displays, whenever I research keywords to write articles, I use this monitor.
Whether it is trading in the stock market or accessing CCTV, LG 29UM69G is a perfect monitor in all the tasks that you need to do multitasking.
You get color calibrated LG 29UM69G monitor. This can be a good monitor for editing. Its color accuracy is also good and its widescreen also helps a lot.
If you use some software for editing videos such as Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premier Pro, then you get good real estate on screen to edit your videos.
I personally do not use the LG 29UM69G monitor for video editing because I have a macbook whose color accuracy is much better than the LG 29UM69G.
And apart from this, I do not need real estate in video editing because my mouse has a horizontal scroll button which I use during video editing.
If you too are fond of watching movies like me then believe me you are going to have a lot of fun.
As I said that its color accuracy is very good, so your movie viewing experience will be spectacular.
And its screen is quite big but the good thing is that while watching the movies you will not have the problem of black bars, you can enjoy watching the movies in full screen comfortably.
It is a large display of 21: 9 ratio, in which watching movies will be a different and great experience.
But, if you watch YouTube videos on this monitor, then you will get the problem of black bars in it.
