In this article, I am going to review the Samsung Odyssey G7 Gaming Monitor, in which I will tell you which features will be available in the Odyssey G7 and should you buy it?
The Odyssey G7 has been very popular since it was launched in India. However, let me tell you that this is a versatile monitor, so that you can also edit your videos very comfortably in addition to gaming.
You get this monitor with aggressive 1000R curved display in 2 variants, in which one variant comes with a 27 inch display while the other one with a 32 inch display.
Next we will know what kind of gamers should buy Samsung Odyssey G7 and why, which will help you in making a purchase decision.

Design & Build Quality
You get aggressive curvature in the display of Samsung G7, which comes with a modern look.
The Samsung Odyssey G7 is made of very solid plastic which gives a premium look and is also very durable.
Like the Gigabyte G27Q, you get significantly thinner bezels on the right, left and top, while the bottom gets slightly thicker bezels.
Its body is fully black with controllable RGB lights.
With the Samsung G7 you are given a V-shape stand which occupies more space on your desk but you can easily put some items in front of it.
I often kept my soft drink bottle in front of it. I know it was a bit crazy because it could damage the monitor, but it got used to it.
In its back side you will find a little designed that looks very beautiful and is also VESA mounted.
It is made of textured plastic, which appears to be quite strong and premium.
Where the stand of the monitor is attached to its back, there is a ring in which RGB lighting has been done.
If we talk about its thickness, then due to its aggressive 1000R curvature, its thickness is about 7.4 “(18.9 cm) and if its thickness is measured with its stand then it is about 11.6” (29.5 cm) which is quite high.
Which means you will need a larger space to put the Samsung Odyssey G7 comfortably on your desk.
And if you do not like to put the gaming monitor on your desk, then you can mount it on the wall as well.
Overall its build quality is much better.

Talking about its ergonomic feature, I would call it average. The reason for this is that you can only tilt or swivel it to a limit, which according to me was a bit disappointing.
But, if you do not need the tilt or swivel feature in your gaming monitor, then it is not an issue for you.
The Samsung Odyssey G7 has a VA panel that produces deep blacks with vivid colors and high brightness.
In this, you will not only be able to do gaming but also things like video editing can be done in a much better way.
You will get the best contrast ratio of Samsung Odyssey G7, since it has a VA panel, then it can be expected to have the best deep blacks.
Due to its excellent picture quality, you can also edit videos and photos in it very comfortably.
Samsung has given QLED display for improved colors and stronger brightness which supports 95% DCI-P3 wide color gamut which if we understand in easy language it will give better picture quality.
The viewing angle in a curved display is quite excellent. Since 1000R curvature has been introduced in Samsung Odyssey G7 for the first time, its experience is quite new.
1000R (radius) curvature means that if we adjust the monitors in the circle shape, the radius between them will be just 1 meter.
When you buy a Samsung Odyssey G7 variant with a 27 inch display, the 1000R curvature appears to be a bit narrower but the 32 inch Samsung Odyssey G7 variants look great.
If you look closely at the Samsung Odyssey G7 monitor, its screen edges will appear darker.
And if the monitor is mounted above the eye level, you will lose image accuracy.

Refresh Rate & Response Time
Samsung has given blazing fast 240Hz refresh rate in Odyssey G7 which makes gaming very smooth. Apart from Samsung Odyssey G7, you will get many more gaming monitors which provide refresh rate up to 240Hz.
Apart from the refresh rate, you get a response time of just 1ms, which is quite good according to a gaming monitor.
In your gaming monitor, at least how much refresh rate and response time is required, please tell in the comment.
Resolution & Size
The Samsung Odyssey G7 has a 27-inch display with 1440p resolution, while you also get the option of a 32-inch display as well as.
Which has 109 PPI pixel density which improves the text clarity.
In its large size, you can easily do multitasking, so that these are not only good for gamers but can also prove to be a good option for content creators.
The Samsung G7 monitor has a very low input lag. The lower the input lag, the smoother the gaming will be.
When I tested the input lag by setting the monitor to the maximum refresh rate and native resolution, it received about 2.7ms input lag, which is quite good gaming wise.
On the other hand, if its refresh rate is set to 60Hz then the input lag increases to 9.6ms.
At the same time, the maximum input lag is 12.7ms when the monitor is using its Variable Refresh Rate feature at 60Hz.
As long as the input lag is less than 15ms, you do not have much trouble and in the case of G7 Odyssey you get very low input lag.
