Design & Build Quality

In terms of design, the boAt Xtend smartwatch has done a great job.

The metal and polycarbonate plastic has been used very well in the entire smartwatch, which gives it a premium look.

Due to the use of metal, its total weight is around 54 grams which are justified and due to this it also gives a very comfortable feeling when wearing in the hand.

The crown button is visible on the right side of the smartwatch, which makes the smartwatch very easy to access.

Plus, a mic will also be seen which is given to talk to Alexa.

On the back side, there are sensors for health tracking and a charging point.

In this, we get to see swappable straps with metal buckles that can be easily replaced.

Regarding the quality of the straps, I would say that they are average.

Though looking at the budget can’t expect more but could have been a bit better.

Display & UI

In the boAt Xtend smartwatch, we get to see a large 1.69-inch square display that comes in a curved structure, which further enhances its look.

So far I haven’t had any complaints about its touch response which is a good thing.

We also get to see some bezels in it, but you will find that all the watch faces given in this smartwatch are mostly based on the dark theme, due to which the bezels are not visible at all.

But if custom watch faces are used, you will see its bezels.

Now, let’s talk about the swipe functionalities.

In boAt Xtend smartwatch, the notification panel can be accessed by swiping down while swiping up gives quick navigation buttons like –

In addition, swiping left from the home screen opens all shortcut cards such as steps count, heart rate monitor, stress monitor, sports mode, and Alexa control.

Watch Faces

The boAt Xtend smartwatch has a total of 50 watch faces that can be used with the help of the app.

We will talk about app support in a separate section but I think we should have been given more watch faces here.

Watch faces can be changed by holding on the home screen of the smartwatch while accessing the entire library requires the app.

Here we are also allowed to customize watch faces which offer us to use custom watch faces even your own pictures.

Alexa Support

The most highlighted feature of the boAt Xtend smartwatch is Alexa support, which is usually seen in premium smartwatches.

Here we get in-built Alexa support in this smartwatch, using which we can give a voice command.

In addition, they can also be accessed if you use products that support Alexa.

Here we get the answer from Alexa not through voice but the message on the screen because speakers are not provided in the smartwatch.

Notifications

The boAt Xtend smartwatch supports text and calls notifications.

For messages, we get to see the sender’s name and message, but unfortunately, we can’t reply to it, which disappointed me a lot.

On the other hand, if we talk about the call notification, we will be able to see the name or number of the caller, whereas the option of mute or quick reply is not available here except to decline the call.

You can only decline the call.

Overall, I am not satisfied with the notification feature of the boAt Xtend smartwatch as the quick reply feature is essential for me but they are missing in it.

Although, here is a good feature.

We are allowed to customize the notifications as per our requirements.

All those apps can be enabled by going to the smartwatch’s app from which you want to receive notifications.

Health Monitoring

In the boAt Xtend smartwatch, we have been given some sensors on the back side to monitor our heart rate, blood oxygen, stress, and so on.

These sensors work very well.

I compared this by monitoring health with the help of professional health tracking equipment and I got a difference of only a few points which is a good thing.

Health tracking proves to be very useful in this budget so well.

Let’s talk about the sports modes.

A total of 14 sports modes are available in the boAt Xtend smartwatch such as –

For this, we have to go to its compatible app where the option of disabling non-essential modes has been given in the section on sports modes.

Battery

The boAt Xtend Smartwatch is powered by a 300 mAh battery that provides a life span of 5 to 6 days on normal use.

Whereas in heavy use we can use it only for 3 to 4 days.

To charge this watch fully, a magnetic charger has been given, which gives full charge to the watch in about 2 hours.

Comfortability

As I mentioned in the section on Design and Build Quality, it is made of metal along with the plastic, which makes it weigh a bit more than the lightweight smartwatch but gives it a premium feel.

And I personally like smartwatches with metal builds which are quite comfortable in the hand as well.

However, there may be some complaints due to its straps as they are not so soft that wearing them at night can cause trouble while sleeping.

Well, they come with swappable options which is a relieveable thing.

Overall, the boAt Xtend smartwatch is fine in terms of comfort but the quality of the straps needed improvement.

App Support

To connect the boAt Xtend smartwatch with the smartphone, you need to install the boAt Wave app.

The UI of the app is very simple and easy to use.

All tracking data is visible as soon as you open the app.

Data about health features such as training, sleep, heart rate, or SpO2 is divided into separate sections, making them easy to access.

I have checked the app quite a lot and I have come across a lot of useful features in it.

With the help of this app, we can customize our smartwatch to a great extent.

Also, with the help of the app, many options of the smartwatch can be enabled or disabled.

So if some features are of no use to you, you can avoid complications by disabling them from here.

There is an option of shortcut cards in this app, in which a maximum of 6 shortcut cards can be used which is a useful feature.

We have already talked about shortcut cards in the Display section.

Other Features

Apart from all this, the boAt Xtend smartwatch also comes with some additional features, in which we have also been given some useful reminders like-

We cannot control the phone’s camera with this watch.
