Design & Build Quality
The most attractive aspect of the Pebble Cosmos Engage smartwatch is its design.
The company has tried to copy Apple Watch Ultra exactly, and I can say that they have succeeded to a great extent.
Like the Apple Watch Ultra, in this smartwatch, you also see the crown button and a function button on one side, while the other is equipped with a speaker and a multi-function button.
And some sensors are given on the backside, but the interesting thing is that you have been given the support of wireless charging, due to which no charging point will be seen here.
I found the best thing about Pebble Cosmos Engage to be its quality, as the metallic frame provides a solid build quality.
At the same time, it is equipped with high-quality straps and is also compatible with the straps of the Apple Watch Ultra, giving you a wide range of options to choose from.
In short, Pebble Cosmos Engage does not disappoint you in terms of design and build quality.
Display & UI
In addition to design, the most highlighted aspect of the Pebble Cosmos Engage is its display, as it sports a massive 1.95-inch display making it the largest square display smartwatch around.
It is not an AMOLED display, but its high resolution of 320×385 px makes it a premium display; you get to see better colour accuracy and sharper image quality.
Usually, you get to see always on display only in AMOLED smartwatches, but Pebble Cosmos Engage provides you always on display without AMOLED.
The Pebble Cosmos Engage offers analogue and digital always-on watch faces, but you cannot choose which one is displayed.
The smartwatch selects the watch faces for you.
In addition, you can see that the display has a brightness of 600 nits, which enables it to remain bright even in outdoor lighting.
Regarding the user interface, the control panel is visible when swiping up, while the notification panel is visible when swiping down.
You get to see some toggle buttons in the control panel, but the interesting thing is that you can customize them as well, and I found this to be a really useful feature.
Additionally, swiping left displays, the built-in watch faces, while swiping right displays a sidebar that shows recent apps.
At the same time, the action button on the smartwatch allows you to perform various tasks and can also be customized to perform a specific task.
It also has multiple UI themes, which you can change directly from the sidebar.
In short, the Pebble Cosmos Engage smartwatch impresses with its display and user interface.
The bezel-less display gives it a sleek appearance, and the customizable buttons help to boost productivity.
Watch Faces
The Pebble Cosmos Engage comes with over 100 cloud-based watch faces that you can install via its companion app.
At the same time, this smartwatch has some built-in watch faces, and because it has a working crown, you will be able to change watch faces on the go.
Apart from this, you can also set up a custom watch face through the app.
The app library of the Pebble Cosmos Engage includes a wide variety of unique and stylish watch faces that you can change on a daily basis to suit your mood.
Bluetooth Calling & Notifications
The Pebble Cosmos Engage is a Bluetooth-calling smartwatch with a built-in microphone and speaker.
While the quality of these features is decent, and performs well in outdoor conditions.
But one thing disappointed me.
It does not offer the option to mute or transfer calls during a call.
However, the Pebble Cosmos Engage performs well when it comes to the overall calling experience.
Health Monitoring
The Pebble Cosmos Engage smartwatch includes various health monitoring features such as a heart rate monitor, SpO2 monitor, blood pressure monitor, and sleep monitor.
Its companion app also allows you to enable 24/7 heart rate monitoring.
While the smartwatch’s heart rate and SpO2 monitoring provide fairly accurate results, there may be a slight difference compared to a medical device.
In general, I would not recommend the Pebble Cosmos Engage for health monitoring as it often displays inaccurate readings; however, you can still use it to get a general idea.
Sports Modes
Pebble Cosmos Engage has done a great job in sports activities.
Although Pebble has not mentioned anywhere how many sports modes this smartwatch has, but in this, you get to see multiple sports modes, including cycling, climbing, running, walking and swimming.
One limitation of the Pebble Cosmos Engage is its water resistance, as it only has an IP67 rating which does not provide strong protection against water.
Alternatively, you may want to consider these waterproof smartwatches.
Battery Life & Charging
The Pebble Cosmos Engage has a battery life of approximately four to five days with typical usage and one to two days with Bluetooth calling enabled.
App Functionalities
To connect the Pebble Cosmos Engage to your phone, you will need to use the M2wear app.
This app enables you to analyze health and fitness data, install watch faces, and customize smartwatch settings.
Other Features
In addition to its basic features, such as reminders, alarms, and stopwatch, the Pebble Cosmos Engage also offers four built-in games that are unavailable on other smartwatches.
It also has a built-in calculator for on-the-go calculations and a screen lock feature for added security.
Who Should Consider And Who Shouldn’t
If you are a fan of the Apple Watch Ultra, the Pebble Cosmos Engage may be a good option as it offers many of the same features with a similar design.
And if you are not, you may want to explore other options within this price range, as there may be more suitable options available.
